Now that its summer I love spending more time outdoors. However with more time outdoors I always seem to get darker than I'd like to. Its not that I think fairer skin is prettier/better than darker skin, its just a personal preference. To help counteract some of the darkening, I decided to try out My Beauty Diary's Lemon Vit-C mask. This mask is supposed to whiten skin and even out the skin tone. I have developed some pigmentation over time from spending time in the sun so I thought this mask might be a good one to try out.
The suggested usage time for this mask is 20 to 30 minutes so I left it on for about 30 minutes. I usually leave My Beauty Diary masks on for about 40 minutes but this one did not seem to contain as much serum or hydration as the ones I've tried in the past. After I removed it, I noticed that my skin was brighter and that some of my dark spots were lighter which is what this My Beauty Diary Lemon Vit-C mask claims to do. In terms of hydration however, it did not deliver as I hoped it would. When I'm out in the
sun for the majority of the day I feel like my skin is drier than
normal even with constant hydration so I
prefer a mask that is extremely hydrating on those days.
Overall, I really wanted this mask to be my go to summer mask for days when I'm out and about all day outdoors but it did not work out that way. I think if it provided more hydration I would have enjoyed it a lot more. I think this mask might be better for someone with normal skin and wants to lighten minor pigmentation.
