First post after hiatus

Hello there blog. It's been just over a year since my last entry. Quite a few things have happened this past year. The biggest was probably my move down to Virginia. I took classes as a part time student hoping to move one step closer to my ultimate goal. I've also worked on consolidating my closet.
The company I work for offered a position in one of our up and coming branches. The incentives were pretty good as well as the potential for growth if everything went smoothly so I accepted the new position. I usually try to be a part of a growing company, team, branch, etc. because if all goes smoothly the company recognizes the team/ individual for those accomplishments and the potential for growth within that company increases. The accomplishment is also something that can be added onto one's resume. Either way, if the project succeeds it can only serve to benefit.

Something else that I spent a lot of time on was part time classes. I'd like to move further in my academics and the availability of the classes I wanted to take at night/evening were greater here. I guess there are more working adults who want to further themselves down here because there were quite a few in my classes. I was glad to see adults in their 30s, with children, and a mortgage still believe that it's not too late to further their academics. It was inspirational really and I'm glad I was able to witness their ambition as well as become friends with some genuinely good people.
Since I do not have as much space down here, I had to learn to bring/keep clothes I really needed. It was definitely a hard process and I feel that I still need to work on it but I did learn of a few key pieces I favored the most. I also learned not to overdo it on the trendy items. One or two pieces are ok but I've learned not to get enough for a week's worth.
Virginia is definitely a change from the north. I'm only in Northern Virginia, where I've been told is barely the south, but the hustle and bustle that I grew up with is very hard to find down here. I don't think I'm south enough to experience the real southern hospitalty but I'm not north enough where people demand instantaneous results. To be honest, I find the people down here very relaxed, which is a good thing but it sometimes gets to the point that I get irritated because there is no sense of urgency in matters that call for it. I guess you can take the girl out of the north but you cant take the north out of the girl.
